WATERBEAR

Grassroots heritage. Emerging talent. Sheffield’s next chapter.

Taking over one of Devonshire Street’s best-loved grassroots venues, WaterBear Green Room carries forward the character and musical heritage of the former Green Room while introducing fresh investment, new programming and a direct connection to WaterBear College of Music.

Through a Red Bull lens, the venue offers credible access to the next generation of Sheffield’s artists, music-industry students and culturally engaged consumers. Its year-round programme of gigs, showcases, club nights and open mics creates repeated opportunities for availability, visibility and meaningful integration into emerging music culture.

For the Sheffield Hotzone, WaterBear Green Room is a future-facing cultural account: connecting the legacy of an established venue with a new pipeline of talent and giving Red Bull a credible role in Sheffield’s grassroots music scene.

OPPOROTUNITIES & CHALLENGES

Opportunities

WaterBear is genuinely keen to work with us, giving Red Bull the opportunity to shape the partnership from the outset. The link between the venue, its students and emerging artists creates a strong platform for range, Perfect Serve and culturally relevant music activations, with potential to build a model that could extend across the wider WaterBear network.

Challenges

There are currently very few material barriers. The priority is simply to convert that enthusiasm into an agreed plan and establish consistent execution as the venue settles into its new identity.
