BEN PROPHET
Born into Ireland’s bustling party scene, Ben Prophet has been surrounded by music from an early age. His introduction to the rave world began with a regular slot for Reprezent Radio focused on discovering new talent, before more recently turning his hand to the darker shades of electronic music.
After relocating to Newcastle to pursue a career in music, his new-found style has quickly burst into the limelight, following a string of support from heavyweight artists including HAAi, VTSS and Mall Grab. His instantly recognisable sound merges gritty, piercing drums with mechanical sounding vocals and percussion to form a raucous blend of techno-induced beats.

On the morning of Friday 26th November the MET office issued an extreme weather warning and advised to only travel if absolutely necessary. Resident KOOG got stranded in Edinburgh and so in stepped the young talismanic Tommy 2000. The weather warning didn't dampen the spirits in the slightest. For our opening event we couldn't have asked for anything better, the weather clearly put a few ticket holders off but the energy from those that did attend more than made up for it.
Long term friends Digital Orchestra and Tommy 2000 started the pace expertly for their age, showcasing intelligent selection blending deep electronic grooves with classic tracks to raise the temperature of the room just right. A more senior Ludo steps in to shell out the garage heaters sending Fab's into bedlam. All before Ben Prophet tore the roof off the place with a blistering set off heavy techno, showcasing both his uniquely quick mixing style with the selection intelligence you'd expect from a rising star. Ben Prophet proved that night why his name is making the rounds in some of the most elite Techno circles. An ambitious, powerful and carefully curated set that sent the place barmy. I would use mature as an adjective, but the bloke asked for Richmond sausage's in his rider, so I'm not to sure that would be true...
The Glitter Station team created such an incredible atmosphere with almost everyone caked in their glitter. The girls accommodated everyone so well and when combined with netting to lower the roof, the place went off. We couldn't be happier with how our first night went off, especially considering the weather. We want to extend a thanks to all of those that attended and especially to those who made it happen. Roll on the chaos next time.
